Emoplux

The exhibition presents a selection of photographs from the series Higher Self, developed through Cristina Nuñez’s participatory methodology The Self-Portrait Experience (SPEX). All works have been produced in Luxembourg over the last two years during workshops aimed in particular at local youth with experience of addiction and migration.
With more than 4,000 sessions since 2008, SPEX is an internationally recognised device for individual and social transformation. Initiated by Nuñez as a self-therapy tool, the method is now a peer-to-peer laboratory to stimulate the unconscious creative process and broaden self-perception. The main goal is to allow anybody to experience the creative process under the artist’s guidance, learning to express uncomfortable emotions and convert pain into art.
