The 2022-2023 season showcases the talent and diversity of six contemporary photographers living or working in Luxembourg.
Bruno Oliveira’s documentary and personal vision of the Cap Verde islands, displayed in the market square, contrasts with Veronique Kolber’s series of American street scenes located uphill near the church and reminiscent of American movies. Behind the church, Marie Capesius’ peaceful and sensual images explore the Levant Island ( Île du Levant ) set between paradise and its immediate contrasting neighbourhood. Boris Loder, influenced by archaeology, uses its methods to collect and study objects, condensing the identity and stereotypes of Luxembourg’s various neighbourhoods into sculptural photographs which can be viewed in the Main Street arcades.
Marc Schroeder’s black and white, minimalist photographs of urban landscapes, located at the Castle concourse, follow a strict graphic logic contrasting with Jeannine Unsen’s portraits of women – exhibited in the Castle gardens – with whom we share an intimate and intense moment.
Walking these paths stimulates questioning as it allows for different encounters, readings and connections.
