About us Café-Crème asbl is a Luxembourg not-for profit association founded in 1984 according to national law. Recognized as a of public interest, Café-Crème asbl is operating under the terms of a convention signed with the Ministry of Culture since 2006. For more than 10 years (1984 – 1997), Café-Crème has published an art magazine with a particular focus on photography distributed internationally, in Europe as well as in the United States and Canada. Café-Crème has organized numerous exhibitions in the most renowned museums and art spaces in Luxembourg and published books and catalogues in relation to photography. In 1997 the Casino, Forum d’Art Contemporain hosted the first important show on contemporary photography: “The 90s – A Family of Man?” curated by the founders Paul diFelice and Pierre Stiwer. More recently, in 2009, the Musée d’art moderne Grand-Duc Jean ( MUDAM ) showed “Mutations2 ( an European Month of photography project ) , focusing on the interaction of photography and video.The exhibition space CarréRotondes hosted the third version, “Mutations 3” ( 2011 ) dealing with the impact of the Internet on photography. There is a regular collaboration between our association and the Musée national d’histoire et d’art as well as the CCRn Abbaye Neumünster over the last years. We also want to stress the privileged ties that connect us to the Galerie Nei Liicht in Dudelange; they reach back to the 1980s. With the help of the Centre culturel français, the association organized in 2000, 2002 and 2004 the Semaines européennes de l’image in Luxembourg together with its French and European partners. Moreover, Café-Crème has organized many exhibitions for private enterprises or assists them with the necessary expertise to host exhibitions dedicated to photography or visual arts on their premises ( Arendt & Medernach, BGL-Fortis, Banque et Caisse d’Epargne de l’Etat ). Since 2005, the association has joined the European Month of photography group ( EmoP ) representing the institutions dealing with photography of 7 European capitals ( Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljublajan, Luxembourg, Paris and Vienna. ) The European Month of Photography Luxembourg events are sponsored by the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture as well as by the City of Luxembourg mainly. L'association bénéficie du soutien du Ministère luxembourgeois de la culture ainsi que de la Ville de Luxembourg en ce qui concerne l'organisation du Mois européen de la photographie.
