7th Month of photography

What kind of story or fiction is conveyed today by a photographic image?
Entitled BodyFiction(s), the seventh edition of the European Month of Photography festival in Luxembourg featured works by some twenty emerging artists-photographers interested in new representations of the body and the human figure.
The artistic positionings of this new generation of photographers – most of them women – diverges from classical models by a approach and an often worried and even disturbing questioning of traditional models.
Fragmentation and dislocation of the body are the characteristics of this type of photography in a context of aesthetic changes marked by an interrogation on gender specifications and generally by a questioning of the roles and characteristics of the sexes.

Emoplux 2019 preview

Our association is actively preparing 2019, the seventh edition of the festival schedules the opening days during the second week of May ( 15-18th ). Key topic to be considered at this point is the representation of the body in contemporary photography featuring mainly female artists / photographers who question the traditional models.
A majority of exhibitions is located again in the capital, including the Mudam, Casino Forum for Contemporary Art, MnHA and Cercle-Cité, Villa Vauban, Abbaye de Neumunster and Luca.
We are happy to see the French Institute return with an exhibition at Abbaye de Neumunster and the Camoes Institute as the Portuguese representative renew it participation.

Kunst Haus: our Vienna partner

KUNST HAUS WIEN was designed by Friedrich Hundertwasser and today houses the museum of this visionary artist; its temporary exhibitions are dedicated to photography of the 20th and 21st centuries.Starting spring 2019, the institution is managing the new edition of the photo festiva, Foto-Wien.
Based on Hundertwasser’s forward-looking ideas regarding ecology and society KUNST HAUS WIEN, Vienna’s first “green museum”, provides a new space for artists and creative minds who deal with topics such as sustainability, climate change, recycling, urbanistics, or cross-generational responsibility in a critical and visionary way from a contemporary point of view.
